we are...
trak
We create spaces that feel good, function well and stand out.
We now have over 20 years of experience with independent businesses, helping them scale up, or entering long term partnerships with leading brands such as Barworks.
what we
do
Founded by industry specialists (and thoroughly decent blokes) Dave Danby and Jamie Valentine. Between them, they bring a unique mix of skills – Dave started out building theatre sets (back when he ran off to drama school), while Jamie trained as an engineer. That mix of creativity, precision, and problem-solving still runs through everything we do.

we make the
unexpected
we are backed by our strong team of trusted collaborators, creators and traders to make it happen.
Our process is practical, adaptable, and grounded in experience – no unnecessary layers, or endless waits for decisions. Just solid work, done well. But more than that, we build relationships. Some of our longest-standing clients started with a single shop, and we still remember sketching out those first plans with them. Now, we get to watch their brands grow, and we’re still right there alongside them.
That’s what TRAK is about – doing great work, with great people, bringing in the right team, and having fun along the way.
HOW
we do it
We don’t just build to spec –we figure out the best possible way to get there with you. Whether we’re starting from your fully fledged concept or just a budget in mind, we’ll make it work. And because we’ve always got eyes from the TRAK team on the ground, we adjust, refine and problem-solve as we go.
That means we’ve developed a bit of a reputation for achieving the impossible. We don’t like saying something can’t be done – so if you want something out of the ordinary then we’ll find a way.
We start with your ideas and turn them into something real. Layouts, materials, details - we work with you to get the balance right.

Our Long-Term Partnership
We’ve enjoyed a long-term partnership serving as the main contractor for the award-winning Barworks. Starting with their very first pub and renovation projects, we’ve grown alongside them over the years, culminating in their largest project to date – the flagship Mare Street Market in Kings Cross, spanning 10,000 sq ft.
As Barworks expanded from a small collection of pubs into a diverse portfolio of bars, restaurants, and music venues – earning consistent praise for their craft beer selections, thoughtful menus, and unique interiors – we’ve similarly built up our extensive network of specialists, scaling up behind the scenes. This impressive track record and industry standing makes partnering with them especially meaningful, reflecting our shared vision for innovative, community-focused hospitality in distinctive spaces.
Beyond the
building…
At TRAK, we don’t stop at the bricks and mortar. From hand-finished shelving to custom bars and statement lighting, we pour the same care and craftsmanship into each piece as we do into our entire build. In fact, we love that many of our clients ask us to go further, going fully bespoke.
Here are just a few highlights of the original furniture and interiors we’ve delivered across London.
Potter & Reid
where:
Brick Lane, Spitalfields
What We Built:
- Handcrafted display units and marble-topped counters
- Custom pieces that complement the boutique’s original flooring and historic East London character
Potter & Reid’s concept required a balance of modern design and heritage charm. Our team introduced bespoke furniture – from refined shelving to sleek marble finishes – ensuring each piece blended seamlessly with the store’s overall aesthetic.

Mare Street Market, Hackney
What We Built:
- Striking chandeliers, pendants, and vintage lighting throughout the dining areas
- Antique furniture, statues, and decorative elements for an immersive experience
Mare Street Market is a vibrant East End destination founded by Marc Francis-Baum (Barworks). We teamed up with Pure White Lines to curate a truly “Instagrammable” lighting scheme, featuring Murano glass chandeliers, reproduction globe pendants, and vintage finds. The result? A bold, eclectic setting that complements local businesses like Rebel Rebel florists and Stranger Than Paradise Records.

pophams | home store
where:
Islington
What We Built:
- Custom shelving and display units
- An oversized bespoke table to anchor the store
Having collaborated with Pophams on their bakery spaces, we extended our craftsmanship to their Home Store concept. The centerpiece is a large, custom-built table for showcasing homeware, paired with thoughtfully designed shelving that reflects Pophams’ artisanal roots.

Violet Cakes
where:
Wilton Way, Hackney
What We Built:
- Tables and front-of-house bar
- Bespoke oak detailing
Claire Ptak’s bakery-café is beloved for its California-meets-British baking style. Our cosmetic refurbishment included creating custom tables and a built-in bar area—elevating the cosy, local vibe while staying true to Violet’s warm, neighborhood appeal.
